We've tried and haven't really gotten a useful response.

At some point, we would do medical testing, but the amount of poop (not all accidents) and no other symptoms of discomfort make a blockage seem fairly unlikely.

Not true at all. Google fecal blockage. My son had it at five and was as regular as the moon. The fecal matter oozes past the blockage and hardens in the descending colon.

Rule out physical before psychological.

No poop involved but my son was nighttime trained for about 9 months (dropped nighttime pull up a few months before 3) when he all a sudden started having pee accidents. It really freaked me out but since then he's had spells (he is now 5.5 and it's really rare but still has happened). We were able to figure out they always coincided with quite big growth spurts.

However, that these involve poop and are during the daytime would worry me too. I'd consider a doc visit.

It started a little bit before camp and then really accelerated. If it was just at camp, I would have greater confidence that that was the cause.

She's had a big growth spurt recently, but I don't know why/how that would be related.

My DS did this around 4.5. It lasted for about 2 weeks. I was pregnant, but it was early and we hadn’t told him yet. Other than that, we couldn’t figure out anything different that could have caused the accidents at school. It stopped on its own as mysteriously as it started.

Are her accidents at home or at camp?

This. Before anything else, get her an X-ray and make sure there is no fecal blockage. It’s far more common than we think.

I’d take her to the pediatrician. Kids can be constipated even if they are pooping daily.

My 4 year old has been potty trained for about 18 months and until very recently she had virtually no accidents. It wasn't something that was on our radars any more.

Now she is having a almost daily pee and poop accidents. She isn't constipated and the only thing that is new is that she has started day camp, although the accidents started a bit pre camp. Is it possible that this all relates to being nervous about camp? She didn't seem nervous about the start of camp and has seemed happy during and after camp.

Anything else that could be causing this? (We have no reason to think there is abuse or other trauma.) Any ideas on how to get things back on track, other than going back to the routine of hourly bathroom trips, etc?
