Yep.
It is usually this time frame when people start to forget about, meal trains end, and otherwise people move on.
I remember that first day I was hone alone with baby for the first time - dh wzs already back at work, friends already stopped by earlier, family members flew back home, etc.
A hot meal and a phone call/visit is perfect after the initial hoopla winds down.

I have spent probably thousands of dollars at target and on amazon since having a child. A gift card to either would get put to good use.

My friend sent me a big box of snacks. My favorite gift by far.

Also, don't think that because they have families that they are busy with visitors. DH and I both have loving, big families but no one visited us. Our parents would swing by for half an hour every few days and that was it. It was still really lonely and I missed my friends.

+100 Everyone thought that our families (big, loving, but chaotic) were helping.... they were more like, "you got this!"

I've been giving out Uber Eats gift cards recently. While Amazon gift cards are always useful, I found that I don't even remember what I used the ones I received for early on. Not that that is such a big deal, but those early days were filled with "maybe this will make the baby sleep" purchases that I don't remember what came from whom. But food delivery seemed like such a treat some nights. We had a nice freezer stash, but sometimes you want your favorite food -- and not just a pizza delivery, something from a favorite restaurant. Grub Hub and Uber Eats make that possible!

I'd prefer Amazon. My husband can go get food without having to pay for delivery.

Grub hub gift card sounds perfect! After I had my babies, a delivered meal was wonderful.

I also liked receiving gift cards to buy baby supplies I hadn't thought of and ended up needing. Even if it was two months down the road. Back when I had mine, I ran to Target a lot, but Amazon would be great too.

Amazon gift card. I just got home from a week helping my daughter with her new baby. She ordered several things she needed during the week through Amazon.

One of our best friends just had their first baby. They both come from HUGE families and I'm sure are going to have lots of things delivered to the hospital, visitors, etc etc so I'm trying to think of something to send them that's a little more practical than an Edible Arrangement or flowers. I also am not pushing to come meet the baby because I know they will have a lot of visitors at their house when they get home. Is a GrubHub gift card impersonal?
