Getting lost on the way to something. We got lost on the way to a wedding ( accidentally clicked on an ad in our GPS—thank goodness those are gone), and my boyfriend handled the situation really well. Married him.

Be on the same page about finances is really the big one.
My MIL did a complete 180 after we got married (for the worst) so spending time with her before we got married did nothing. She didn't lose her shit until things were official, I think because when I was a girlfriend she wasn't threatened by me.

1. Be with them through the recovery from a minor/moderate medical procedure. One that may require a few days of taking it easy.
2. Spend a week visiting with their parents.
I love my DH but man these things bring out the worst in him! I’m sure I would have married him anyway, but would have been nice to know he turns into a complete ass on these occasions.
