Come to think of it, my elementary aged DD would like it too. Still not doing it.

You people really must understand that not everyone thinks in the same way.

I can't imagine kids being happy about it, sorry. I imagine the embarrassment.

Huh. As the teacher I would have heavily discouraged that.

Even my 4th grader didn't care about me coming to lunch.

This was only 3-4 years ago. He's now a teenager and rebelling.

Yep. Inevitable.

Wow. I'm not surprised he's rebelling.

I did it once in K and almost died. The noise was crazy. I did do it again but only a couple of times each grade. After the first time i was more mentally prepared.

Most teens rebel with or without mom at lunch. There are a lot of parenting things to judge this one is very meh. Like who cares. That mom prob helped your kid open his bottles water or tie his shoes before he went to recess. One more adult in the lunch room is never a bad thing.

Depends on the school. Ours will not allow it.

I can only imagine the relentless mocking from his peers that this poor kid had to endure. Yikes.

You know how you can go and have lunch with your kids at school and it's very good emotional support for little ones.. well, I found an acquaintance of mine went to her son's school EVERY DAY (!) for the first months and 3 times of the week (!) for the rest of the year for his first 6(!!!) grades.

It just blew my mind.

She says he was fine with it.
