My orthorexic daughter in law weighs about 90 lbs and is 5'4", can I insist on her sitting in the back seat facing rear? Ask your ped.

Mine is going into 5th and still in a booster and has never nor will be in the front seat. That's why I don't let mine ride with others often.

my 13yo can ride in the front about town but on a trip it's back seat baby! Pretty much back seat if his younger sister is in the car.

My 11 year old (height and weight at adult levels) rides in front with doors off all the time.

Just keep in mind that they will be in the drivers seat at 15 years 9 months, and having some experience observing the driving from the front passenger seat in the years leading up to that is critically important.

Same. When DS got engaged we got him and his fiancee matching carseats.

My 6 year old rides in the front in my 2-seater convertible, on a backless booster. In our family car, she rides in the backseat because it has one.

We did 13, pediatrician agreed with that. I have a kid who was average height, slightly higher weight at 13, so it's possible if I had a tiny kid he would have suggested waiting.

My young teen sits in the front occasionally, but frankly, we both are so used to the ability to spread out our stuff across the seats like we’ve done all these years that she usually just sits in the back, and that’s fine with both of us.

13 is the rule. Not height and weight.

13 - we didn't go by weight at all, but all were over 4'9" by then.

My 11 (almost 12) year old just transitioned out of a booster last year. She loved being up high and kind of misses it, she says. She's my tiny kid, though. She may not even be able to at 13, so we'll see.

What age (height and weight) did you let your child ride in the front passenger seat?
