I don't know, but you're spelling them in a weird way.

I like the idea of a band of apples who play power chords. Then the spotlight becomes too much, drugs take hold, they fight and bicker, and fall apart and split up...much to the dismay of their fans.

It’s not you, OP, it’s the cords.

I pony up for the maker brand because I need something more durable.

Apple makes its money selling you over-priced yet poor-quality phone accessories. Their technology is no longer that special. People keep falling for a marketing ploy on what is now a basic utility. Ask yourself if you ever carried about the brand of a house phone?

Yeah, I'm really annoyed that my 4-year old iPhone is a mess. I put my foot down and refused to replace it after two years. The battery is good for a few hours at best, the phone dials up calls randomly, etc. I've taken good care of it over the years. It's probably a combination of planned obsolescence and poor quality Chinese crap. If another company comes along with a more reliable product I'm jumping ship. You shouldn't have to replace a $$$ product every two years.

I had a Mac for five years or so and ran through three cords. Have had a couple of PC's now for longer than that and still on the original cords.

I think it's deliberate.

It’s called planned obsolescence. It’s how Apple makes its money. Different fittings in new designs, upgrades that don’t work on older models. Power cords that shred.

I buy the cheap ones at cvs and they last longer.

I started buying my kids the Staples brand ones. They work just as good. They have flat colored versions (great to send to birthday sleepovers so other kids don't steal them). And the regular white ones are so much better designed, plus you can buy ones that are up to 10ft long.

So much better. My daughters shows no signs of wear and she used to go through the apple ones like crazy. Plus the Staples ones are a third of the price. My kids love the length. I love that they are designed so much better.

Because they’re all Chinese made garbage.

That Apple logo means nothing.

Buy aftermarket cords.

Why is Apple STILL not making braided, durable cords?

Same here Op. and we don’t wrap them or twist them or anything. Cheap Chinese crap.

Yes, if you twist vocal chords, they're not going to sound good after a while.

Loop your power cords gently, no twisting.

Both my MacBook and iPhone! Am I twisting my recharging chords in a weird way?

Yes, I know they aren’t expensive to replace but they really should be better made.
