Subject: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
I enjoyed Leo's scenes in the westerns. He was sinister in the scene as the bad guy holding the little girl hostage - absolutely fantastic in that moment.
The movie was a bunch of vignettes, some more poignant than others. But the parts were greater than the whole, IMHO.

He's so jacked in this movie. Like, similar to his Fight Club days.
When he took his shirt off on the roof of the house, all the women (and a few of the men) in the Georgetown theater said "Daaaaaaaaaaamn"
I had a good laugh about that. But yeah, he looks incredible for a man who is 55.

I had to look it up to see who she was in the movie. I disagree about the "scene stealing performance". She's good, but not that remarkable IMO. She is very pretty though.
I read an interview with her where she talked about how horrified she was that she had to flaunt her feet in the car scene. Apparently she was a ballet dancer and is embarrassed by the state of her feet. Brad Pitt and Tarantino had to convince her that they aren’t so bad.
I thought she was fine, in the same way that a million other pretty girls would have been fine in that role. She’s yet another young actor who got where she is thanks to her famous parents.

QT is doing the next installment of the Star Trek franchise. I have mixed feelings about this.
Definitely ponderous and disjointed. I'm not normally a huge fan of either actor, but I thought both of them were great in this. WOuld have been a better movie with both of them in more joint scenes. Just too much time watching Leo do western scenes. Blah blah blah.

I enjoyed it. It wasn’t manic like a lot of Tarantino’s films (aside from the regulation bit of gore at the end), and I liked that. If most of the characters hadn’t been based on real people I don’t think I would have found it very engaging.
I could take or leave Brad Pitt generally, but I thought he was an excellent fit for his role and he carried it off well.

Guess it's been a while since I watched Tarantino--don't recall his movies being slow. (Pulp Fiction?)
I thought the Manson story was pretty close to reality until the end. I would have like to see more of the backstory on Pitt. And more of Pitt and DiCaprio together, and less time with DiCaprio acting in the westerns.

Wait for it to be released to video. I don't know about it being sexit, it's set in 1969. THe whole world was sexist then. Well, still is, but more so.

Anyone else see this? Anyone else think it was....mostly boring? I though Pitt did a great job, as did DiCaprio. But most of the movie, I kept thinking "point, pls?"
