You’re on your own, but there is so much technology available so long as you activate it.

You have to find it yourself. But, they can blacklist the IMEI. Also, if it is in android phone you can locate it, and make it ring through your gmail account, even if it is on silent.

Go to google timeline. Maps, My Timeline. If you had your GPS location on, you will see where it last was.
