I could’ve written this. No problem getting pregnant mid to late 30’s. A few miscarriages from 40-42, failed ivf, then spontaneous successful pregnancy at 43.

DH and I conceived thru IVF with the use of a donor egg in our late 40s. 42 seems to be the age cutoff for most fertility clinics for using your own eggs. Therefore get thee to a fertility clinic ASAP and find out what your options are or donor egg will soon be the only option for you. That said our DS is awesome and the fact he was conceived via donor egg is a complete non-issue for us.

Age is just one of many factors, i conceived naturally in my early 40s. However I would recommend starting by seeing an OB/ RE and getting some basic testing and anything else they recommend based on your individual health/history.

Definitely get yourself and your husband checked out. Got pregnant easily mid to late 30’s. Hit 40 and had several miscarriages.

Have you been trying to conceive, OP? The first step is to start trying. I agree with the recommendation to use Taking Charge of your Fertility. You should also schedule an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist to get basic blood work done. It's certainly not impossible to conceive at 41 but you should get started right away. OP, you need to see a doctor for this. Some struggle to conceive at age 23, 30, 35, or 40. Others conceive easily past age 40. There's no way to tell which camp you and your wife fall into.

Personally, we used IVF to conceive our first at 35, followed by an unexpected natural conception at 39.

You need to go to a fertility specialist ASAP to see if there are any issues that would affect either of you. You could possibly do IUI timed to ovulation and get pregnant “naturally”. You can’t pick the right procedure until you know if there are any obvious issues.

Sorry. A Naive thread. But, very new to this. DW and I are both 41. DW had a few period problems and medicines seem to cause B12 issues. She is overweight by 20lb. Are there alternatives to get pregnant at this age? We are considering but have a lot of fear of things not working our way.
