I have a 2019 Honda Odyssey and an iPhone X. I connect my phone to the car using an Apple cable. All software is updated. Honda has reset the Carplay on 2 occasions. Despite all of this, when making calls I have repeated problems (several times a day and often several times during a conversation). The person with whom I am talking thinks the phone call has been muted or disconnected. I can hear them but they cannot hear me. They often hang up. In order to prevent them from hanging up I have to quickly pick up the phone and switch to speakerphone (while driving- this is the whole reason I wanted Carplay- to avoid touching the phone while driving). Then they can hear me. If I then switch back to Carplay they can hear me (for a while, before this happens again). If the Bluetooth is connected the conversation switches between Bluetooth and Carplay. I have since disconnected my phone from Bluetooth but continue to have the random muting problem. Anyone else experience this? Thoughts? I’ve reached out to American Honda and they are “investigating”. Our local Honda dealership can’t seem to help.
Very frustrating as I rely on the phone connection during my commute to work so I can participate in conference calls after dropping kids off at school. Really want to replace the car now.
