Subject: Key or Horace Mann?
Key is wonderful but is so overcrowded, it has 4th *and* 5th grades in trailers. Great for international families though -- 30+ languages spoken there, great ESL support, World Family Day is a huge annual event.

Both are great - though Stoddert is probably the friendliest Hardy feeder. Lots of walking drop-offs (as opposed to driving) makes everyone get to know each other. But then there are very few single family detached house there - mostly townhouses/apts.

Mann has tons of international families. It's a close knit community but you get out of it what you put into it. Expect to be asked to be "present" and participate as a member of the school community. Show up at pickup and drop off and chat. Volunteer for the auction, or the family picnic, etc. It's worth putting in the time. We are facing our last year there after 9 years this year and I expect to be a puddle at every All School Morning meeting, banner ceremony, etc. I miss it already!

Mann figured out how to deal with it. Key leadership dragged it out. If this is important to you.

Whichever one was more conveniently located, since both are very good schools. If aftercare is an issue, I'd take that into account, too.
