That sounds like a lot, actually. I don’t think I did that even when I was post-partum. I wouldn’t call it an alarming amount, but I’d see a gyno to get it checked out and get your iron checked too. Anemia can really sneak up on you.

Look, this just isn't possible anatomically. The uterus does not contain air. The vagina could. Much, much more likely that the noise or sensation is coming from intestines.

My daughter has described this to me, but I've not experienced it myself. I wondered whether this is common, and was very interested in your post. She says there is a gurgling sound similar go gastrointestinal churning, but she can feel that it is actually from her vagina and it is often followed by a large, flooding, gush of blood upon standing.

If you have a hysterectomy, but leave the ovaries, are there still prostaglandins formed in the body every month , and would that still effect the intestines, or is it the uterus making the prostaglandins, and without the uterus the intestines don't cramp?

I’m pretty sure it’s the prostaglandins making your intestines churn, but because it coincides with a gush of blood, it seems like the uterus is gurgling. It’s a weird sensation, isn’t it?

For people with super heavy periods, do you ever hear like a gurgling flushing noise from your uterus? Is that even possible? Can there be air in the uterus? Or is it prostaglandins making intestinal noises?
