It’s really for E-4 and below. Single parents, dual military have priority. Then it opens up to E-5 and above.

It’s not intended for civilian DoD families. You’re never going to really move up, since the military families are always cycling through and getting a head of line privileges

I do not think it is feasible for a Navy civilian. They do not fund the program enough for active-duty military to utilize it.

Does anyone know if this wait list has been moving at all? We've been on it for over two years and we're losing hope...

The military facilities take active duty kids first. Usually most are full and very hard to get a spot as a retiree or civilian. Those programs are for active duty.

You should get on the wait list as soon as you know you're pregnant for military daycare. What they don't tell you that in order to qualify for the assistance, military daycare need to provide a letter that there is no availability to actually accommodate your child or it's hard on the family in terms of commute.

We have been on the waitlist for some time. Go ahead and get on, but from what I have heard the program is low on funds and to not expect anything.

We did child care aware through the Air Force, but I'm in the facebook group they run for CCA families. Someone just asked about the Navy program and others said no funding had become available since January 2018 and they are not accepting new applications. It doesn't hurt to give Child Care Aware a call though. I've always found them to be really helpful and responsive. It doesn't hurt to waitlist, but I wouldn't count on getting the subsidy for a year or more. It seems like the Navy program always runs out of money.

Can anyone share their experiences with the Navy child care fee assistance program? I am a Navy civilian and my husband is just a civilian.

I want to know whether we can get on the wait list for this program and how likely we are to get assistance. We are trying to conceive now and the Anticipated Placement Time for the DoD facilities around here are about 2 years from now.
