I believe the Langley pyramid AAP middle students previously all went to Longfellow.

We just moved to McLean and this is what I was told.

2017-18 was the first year that all (or almost all) of the 7th graders zoned for Cooper in the AAP program went to Cooper. The 8th graders could go to Cooper or finish up at Kilmer or Longfellow (see below).

2018-19 was the first year that all (or almost all) of both the 7th and 8th graders zoned for Cooper in the AAP went to Cooper.

Before then about 1/2 of the Cooper AAP kids went to Kilmer (I think the ones whose base ES was Forestville, Great Falls, or Colvin Run) and the other 1/2 went to Longfellow (I think the ones whose base ES was Spring Hill, Churchill Road, or Franklin Sherman).

Only 51 students from Cooper took the test and only 8 of them got accepted.

The near neighbor, Langfellow middle school has 185 student taking the test and 62 of them got admitted.

This is Class of 2022. FCAG hasn't posted information on the Class of 2023 yet.

This article has some information on Class of 2023 admits: https://annandaleva.blogspot.com/2019/06/few-mason-district-students-get-into-tj.html

Wow. Kilmer overtook Rocky Run. Bad years for RRMS and Cooper. Great year for Kilmer. Carson, Longfellow and Frost look about right.

None of the Cooper base kids were at Longfellow last year. The previous class was there last year Longfellow had Cooper bass kids.

Some of Cooper’s AP are in those LOngfellow stats. As Cooper’s AAP program ages, look to see Longfellow and Kilmer’s numbers drop as Cooper’s increases. But in reality, it is just the same students.
