I received a gift card from work that is enough to buy an Apple Watch, but I'm trying to determine the benefits. Honestly, having one more device to keep charged and updated (as well as more screen time) doesn't seem appealing, but so many folks I know love their Apple Watch. I think that the sleep and exercise tracker would be a great feature, but is it worth $399? What else do you use it for? Does it result in using your phone more - because that is something I definitely do not want. Right now I'm wearing an old school watch from H&M that cost me $10. Looking for reasons why I should buy the Apple Watch instead of a basic FitBit. I'm sure there are many things it does that I'm not thinking about. Would love to hear some feedback. Thanks!
I love mine, but I'm an avid exerciser who uses Strava. You can record workouts on your watch. You can answer calls and/or decide to ignore them during exercising without pulling out your phone. I use mine as an alarm clock, to check weather and to make short replies to text messages. When using my phone as a GPS navigation system, it vibrates when I get close to a turn, and the next turn is shown on the watch. My battery life is excellent; I charge it for 10 minutes in the morning and need to put it on for an hour or so once a week. I can usually get two days of use (wearing while I sleep) before it's even close to he battery running low.
I had the Fitbit smart watch and the iwatch is night and day better for everything except battery life.
