OP, you are absolutely allowed to be neurotic about all of this. There is an incredible amount of time, money, and emotional energy that goes into this process and it is absolutely exhausting and anxiety inducing. I used to accompany DW to her appointments with a laptop and literally transcribe everything the doctor said - so we were pretty "neurotic" too. I believe that DW was successful because she advocated for herself and paid close attention and chose the best people to care for her. She is actually the first PP in this thread, and we also moved from SG to Cornell for reasons similar to yours. You're in good hands with Dr. Davis, and I wish you good luck!

OP here - thanks for the reality check. i think i just wanted to understand why places like SG want it to be over a certain thickness... now in hindsight i think i was being neurotic. i never thought i'd be the kind of person that needed a doctor to hold my hand but after so many failures (at SG) i'm sort of spooked.

also he ended up keeping me on estrogen (same dose) for two more days based on my hormone levels today - so i appreciate that hes willing to tailor my FET protocol. this is in contrast to my SG doctor who just pounded me with mega doses of estrogen in multiple forms to achieve their minimum lining thickness.

He quoted a metadata study - that seems like a solid response that shows his decision was based on something concrete. What more did you want? I liked him and yes he talks fast and you have to be prepared and take good notes, but he always called me back and was kind. Also he had a policy of only taking vacations when the Cornell lab was closed.. MUch better than SG where my doctor was on vacation for at least half of each of my three cycles.

Yeah I've been a patient for a few years now... he is pretty insane to talk to on the phone. Like, you need to have your notes in front of you ready before getting on a call with him... he is like an auctioneer. But, I trust him. He is very good at what he does. I have transferred with linings under 8 many times. I almost always get pregnant (my losses are another issue unrelated to lining) -- I do have one baby from Cornell/Davis, and I'm pretty sure my lining wasn't that thick. But to speak to your main point, yeah, his bedside manner is lacking but I feel like the rapport with your nurse is much more important. My Shady Grove Dr wasn't phenomenal either TBH.

He’s polite, but always seems rushed. I feel like he knows stuff but doesn’t need to necessarily walk me through the details ( which I imagine could be annoying when you have so many patients)... I don’t know if I just need reassurance because of my anxiety over the process or if it’s him.

For example- my lining never looks that great- 7.5 mm and he was ok to transfer- I asked him why not keep me on estrogen longer to try to thicken things up and he said there was a meta study out there that concluded that canceling a cycle because of lower uterine lining thickness wasn’t appropriate because people got pregnant with thinner linings... I mean- I trust him but really? That’s the explanation? I didn’t push for a more detailed explanation - but I did ask do him if he was 100% ok with moving forward and he said yes.


Anyone else a patient of his? Do you think he’s sort of rushed ??
