It is in my house in MoCo too. Verizon ran ethernet from the outside ONT to the other side of the house where my WiFi router is.

If you can convince them. Most people aren't going to be comfortable running cat5 through the house.

There's no easy way around FIOS's router rental. You basically need to use some Verizon router at some point since they use MOCA.

You could just use your existing router as a bridge to a new third party router. But that's more equipment to go wrong/debug. I did that with the old FIOS router I had that didn't support 802.11n.

Does anybody have a modem/router they use for FIOS that provides parental controls? We’ve been renting an old one that doesn’t seem to allow parental controls so we’ve been using a Circle with it. The kids have found their way around the circle and I’m also tired of paying the rental fees.
