Yes. Most make similar sad excuses about lack of options, coaching, best college placement, etc. and ignore the total lack of ethics in the program.

It's amazing that ML is still even a thing. It's a consumer market and the program probably has a few years left. There's always a better option and the level of discontent with the program make it obvious that another national program will see the gap in the market and swoop in soon.

That argument should have allowed 3d to prosper in the Mid-Atlantic but it has failed (3d Maryland only exists because they acquired Laxfactory). Fairfax & Montgomery County parents with no moral values have allowed ML to thrive.

Madlax 2023 has a lot of Mater Dei kids and practices at GP not a VA option

There really aren't that many choices for good lacrosse in the immediate DC area. One is ML and the other is NL. I'm not including BLC/DCE because the program is dominated by Mater Dei families on most age levels and they practice in Potomac. Since ML has moved mostly to the VA side and NL and BLC are on the MD side, that's about it for choice.

By playing for MadLax you are essentially condoning this type of behavior and teaching your kids it's okay to act this way. Is saying your kid plays D1 lacrosse more important than them becoming good people?

Honestly, why do you care so much? You don't like ML, fine, there are plenty of other clubs your kid can join and have a perfectly enjoyable lacrosse experience.

They are better skill wise because they cheat by playing older kids down on younger teams and I'm not talking about delayed entry. Of course their teams look better when the primary kids playing are in older classes.

Is the coaching that good? The teams I've seen play against my own kids this year are definitely better skill-wise across the entirety of the team in their age groups so I have no issue there. That being said I have two stories from this weekend that would make me question, as a parent whose priority should be to set a good example for their kids, ever playing for MadLax:

1. Spoke to a kid in college that I've known for a couple of years- truly one of the nicest kids you could ask to represent tho sport in terms of how he caries himself, gives back to youth lacrosse with his time and reason for playing lacrosse (to help him get into a better school so he can leverage that into a better start to his professional career). He had been playing for MadLax when he committed to a D1 school. He decided to leave Madlax for another lacrosse club and the first thing Cabell did was call the college coach that just recruited the kid to tell this coach that the kid and his family weren't good people to get back at the kid. That's petty.

2. The folks running Hogan Hershey were discussing how they were monitoring the MadLax teams to make sure certain kids weren't moving between teams to play down an age group. Why would you want to teach your kids that it's okay to cheat- especially something as inconsequential as a youth lacrosse game?
