Wow, Op, just wow. Do you even listen to the words that come out of your mouth?

Personally, I would cancel my trip. But I wouldn’t look down on someone who put the dog down a few days before.

Of course he is fussy, he's DYING.

You might be able to find someone on Rover who would be willing to take care of a pet in this condition, but it really isn't fair to them to traumatize them if he does pass away while you're gone. Just please put him down and put him out of his misery.

Yeah seriously, don't get another dog. I could never leave town when my pet was this sick. My cat had a terminal illness, I cancelled all social plans, worked from home (next to him at all times). OP is heartless.

I would too, but OP is clearly not worried. She even called him fussy.
Take him to the vet and end his miserable life. Then have your great vacation.

Disgusting. I usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but OP seems way more concerned about her trip than her dog.

Oh my gosh - the thought of your sick dog being boarded and feeling like his family abandoned him is making me want to cry. Put him down before your trip. Give him an awesome last few weeks. Why is this even a question? What if he dies in boarding...how could you live with yourself.

This. Discuss this with your vet and they will agree that this is best.

My dog is in the final stages of kidney disease. Over two weeks ago our vet said only a few days left. Doggo is stil here and we have a big trip planned in August for two weeks.

He is pretty fussy so not sure our normal boarding place would work.

Any suggestions?
