Mine is like this. You try getting your arm in to clean the walls and top. We bought another one that we use and we put it on the counter until the reno.
My DH is 6'7" and doesn't squat down to program it. The controls are practically counter level.
Also, who doesn't use a splatter guard in a microwave?
Same here. Our controls flip out. They are facing up, maybe one inch below the counter top. If her kids have to squat down, then the also have to squat down to reach the counter.
