Just do whatever rec league is closest to his elementary school and request for him to be put on a team with other kids from school.

You should rename your post to Oakton area and re-post in the soccer specific forum where you might get more responses. FWIW, our friends who live in Oakton have their kids in the Vienna youth soccer program.

We just moved to Oakton. My son is 6 1/2 and will be starting second grade. He loves to play soccer. He’s pretty good at it, but he’s not an absolute stand out. What soccer teams are there in the area for him to look at joining for the fall?
