My small DD (under 5ft) is really good at field hockey.

She’s been to top golf a few times. Not her thing. Badminton, ping pong, tennis all in her fun-to-do category. Not sure she’s flexible enough to do cheerleading. Know absolutely nothing about squash but we’ll check it out.

So many good ideas! Thank you! She is interested in crew and rock climbing. Neither of us have any idea about those sports though, so we’ll google and YouTube it first.

She's not too small for crew. She could cox and/or row.

What about badminton or squash, or would they fall in the same category as tennis?

Golf?

Coxswain- if she likes to yell at people, she could be great.

+1. My best friend in high school played four years of varsity basketball as a point guard at that height. We had a decent team, too. Athleticism, personality, good fundamental skills, and good knowledge of the game are enough in high school.

Look at your high school’s sports website and see what is listed. Depending on her current age she may be behind in skills but quite a few sports really do not kick in until early teen years.

Thank you all. I am going to discuss with her on the above. Rock climbing sounds very interesting as she is naturally good at it and loves to play at those indoor parks.

She would be very small even as a lightweight rower. I was going straight to coxswain.

The following have been ruled out.
Swimming, soccer, basketball, softball - no interest
Volleyball - too short?
Crew - too short/light?
Tennis - not into competitive tennis

Crew - don't have to rule it out due to her height or weight - 5'3 is not too short and there's lightweight class. But it's nothing like lax so she might find it boring
