I drive a CRV and DH drives a Rav4. Also good options. But, if you prefer something slightly smaller, the Forester and Outback should be on your list.

crosstrek

Crosstrek is the *exact* same car as the Impreza. Just lifted - so less aerodynamic and therefore worse MPG (although better if you offroad). More expensive + worse MPG + no performance difference = huge scam.

As someone who prefers sedans I think the Rav4 is pretty big and wouldn't be happy with it

The Accord is longer than the RAV4.

Rav4 sits higher, not everyone likes that

New car vs used car for a single mom who does not want a headache - anytime.

2019 Volkswagen Tiguan
here is why, because it is SUV and it is pretty safe, and bigger for a kid as a kid grows so much more comfortable then sedan.
Because it has wonderful warranty for you not to worry about anything: :6 yr/72,000 mi basic, 6 yr/72,000 mi powertrain

And because it is really inexpensive

MSRP: From $24,295

If you negotiate it right you can get it for about 18 to 20K without much effort considering new next year model is around the corner.

MPG: Up to 22 city / 29 highway

You can easily find a car for under 22K in our area and remember that those prices are BASE for negotiations so you can negotiate way more down from this:

SUV is such that once you own one you never want to look back at sedans. SUV's have so much more room, air and so much easier to get in and out.

What’s your budget? You need to be more specific about your preferences.

I currently drive a 2008 Honda Accord. I am a single mom with one toddler. I want a medium size sedan or possibly a small SUV (although that’s probably not in budget and gas would probably be too expensive.) This is what’s important to me, in this order:
- safety (for me and for my backseat passenger)
- reliability and maintenance costs
- purchase price

Should I get another Accord? A Subaru (and if so, which one)?
