I had the same experience being 4 years apart. I feel like the fighting made it worse for our parents than us being distracted by a built-in playmate. However, now we are both in our 20s and are best friends.

My girls are 26 months apart. It was hard at the beginning, but great now at 6 and 4. They play together and do the same things. They are each other’s best friend.
I also have a baby boy so we’ll see how those relationships will fare

Just found out I’m pregnant with #2 so no idea if this will stick or not but I’m hoping the answer is 23 months apart

2 under 2 is almost always a sh*t show, especially with same sex kids. They are into the same stuff at the same time which leads to a lot of fighting over toys, parental attention, basically everything. My OB-GYN said that ideally you’re supposed to wait 18 months-2 years before getting pregnant again. They’re just starting to understand how pregnancy affects a woman’s body and the ideal amount of time for healing.

Mine are 4.5 years apart but that’s due to secondary infertility. Too soon to tell if they’ll get along or whatever, because I have a 4.5 year old and a 2 month old.

Mine are three years apart, and it’s bad. Older one remembers being an only and is jealous. Under two years from about 19 months to 30 months is best.

I had mine a little under 2.5 years apart. To me, it has been the perfect age difference. The oldest got to be the baby for awhile before his brother was born, yet, they are close enough in age to be great playmates.

I'm going to go with 2.5-3 years. I think it is slightly better than less than 2 in that a 2.5 yo or 3 yo is easier to handle along with a newborn than a new 2 yo.

That said, mine are 3.5 years apart and it's great, except they are 4 years apart in school and so they are in very different stages school wise.
