I'm not an atheist but I sure as heck don't care what God thinks about it. You're a good person or you're not. Doesn't matter if you're a Christian, atheist, Buddhist, Muslim, Jew, whatever.

I think you misunderstand confession. It’s not supposed to be “My bad!”. I was raised to believe that the forgiveness of sins only came with actual repentance. If you just say I’m sorry, but continue the behavior, the relationship with God is not repaired.

Absolutely! I just had this conversation with my teen who is struggling with her faith. I was able to point out examples of both good atheists and bad people who identify as religious (not just self-proclaimed Christians, but other faiths as well). I know she’s a good person so I don’t think she’s going to Hell if she stops believing. I do worry about the loss of spiritual comfort as I watch both atheist and religious people I know try to grapple with life’s bumps, bruises, and crippling blows. Thus far, the religious people I know seem to be coping better. It might be faith. It might be having a faith community.

In the eyes of god, a Christian is always better.

A good person, atheist or not, is always better than a bad Christian.

Yes, obviously. And evangelicals, interestingly, have about the same rates of adultery, crime, addiction etc. as everyone else. So really, they're no better than anyone else.

I know which ones I’d prefer in my life and to be around my kids. Good people are gold.

You misunderstand atheists completely.

Any atheist would immediately change their position once shown evidence of a god. That is what "atheist integrity" is, if there is such a thing. So that should answer your question.

In the eyes of God, at the end of their lives, who do you think will be consider is more worthy -
an atheist who lived a life of a good kind helpful and charitable entirely alturistic person or a frequently sinning and repenting Christian equipped with many other flows (you can name them easily)?

Would a true atheist like to go to heaven if it existed or would he like to decline eternal life just to keep his integrity?
