What is he supposed to call him, his mother? Mom?

I think that is entirely between Brody and Caitlyn. I would imagine that each parent/child dyad would have their own opinions on this. Unless Brody is getting "heat" from Caitlyn then the concern is ridiculous.

I think people need to give Brody a break. He spent 30 years calling Caitlyn “dad” and using the pronoun “he” and now he supposed to kid tchange in second. Families have transitions to make that need support too. I impinge it feels like a real loss to Caitlyn’s kids in many ways. There just seems to be so little support for the families who may also be in crisis.

I don’t know what they agreed to in their family. In general, it’s rude and disrespectful to call someone a different name than they prefer. If I ask to be called nana and you call me grandmother, if I ask you to call me Jennifer and you insist on Jenny, or if I ask you to call me mom and you keep saying Dad, those are all examples of disrespect. However, when you spend decades calling someone a particular name, it can be difficult to switch gears and use a new name, not just because you dislike the new name for whatever reason. A parent might see their child struggling with the transition and not push them whereas they’d expect everyone else to use the new name because there’s no emotional issue preventing them from transitioning.

TL;DR yes it’s rude but Caitlyn and Brody might have some sort of understanding.

He is still technically Brody’s dad. Isn’t Caitlyn the one with the sperm?
