I know what your saying OP- you don't want to take the chance because the middle can sag over time and therefore be unsafe.
It sounds like this is not the case though so I would reuse!

I would air it outside for a day and make sure there wasn’t any dust on it.

Yes, no question.

I reused our ikea crib mattress across 2 kids and would have used it for a 3rd if it hadn’t been recalled.

We got a crib mattress from a friend who used it for her 7 year old and her 2 year old - so manufactured around 2012, I guess? It's indistinguishable from a new mattress and if you want to be crunchy about it there's no risk of "offgassing" when the mattress has been in circulation this long. I can't imagine putting it in a landfill for no reason except to waste money.

Yes. It's probably better for the baby too because it's no longer off gassing.

+2. Baby #2 is on baby #1s crib mattress and I plan on putting baby #3 on it too!

You can ask the manufacturer. I did for one I got from my sister.

No, you should throw away a perfectly good mattress and toss it because you have more money than good sense. Of course, it can be reused! I used the same crib mattress for three kids and then gave it to someone who used it for another give years and then she gave it to someone else. Mattresses last a long time!

We have a Naturepedic dual-stage crib mattress that was manufactured in 2014. Our firstborn rarely slept in their crib. We moved almost 2 years after we bought the mattress and haven’t used it since. It’s been stored under a twin bed on carpet and has a waterproof, food-grade polypropylene surface with tightly finished seams.

Given how the mattress has been stored, would you reuse it for another baby? We’re expecting baby 2 and I’m figuring out what to keep vs. purge before delivery. TIA
