If a person is non compliant by not taking the medication prescribed by a doc at IPAC, does it warrant a trip to the ER at that point?

He has not physically threatened me or my (adult) children, but he has "stared down" me and my daughter.

Bumping this older thread because we are facing a similar issue. My partner Would Not Go to the ER so we went the IPAC route.

Once we get referrals, are patients that have been assessed by IPAC given a higher priority for outpatient care? Or are we simply in the wait for 2 months queue?

I had a horrible experience there. I was basically begging for help for a relative - who was clearly going through a break of some sort - and they did nothing. When she finally got into the psychiatrist he was absolutely stone faced, wrote her a prescription, and said all of the INOVA psychiatric offices were full and not taking new patients. She went back for a follow up and the provider went off on a tangent about how pregnant women shouldn’t take medication of any sort, even if their mental health is at stake.

There are good MDs there, ok ones and not so good ones.

Same with clinicians....good ides to go there because you will get care .Walk in wait time can be hours..

If a psychotic break is occurring..the ER would be best

I have a relative going through a psychiatric break. Does anyone have feedback on IPAC? Or any other recommendations for obtaining immediate mental health help outside of the ER or involuntary commitment (BTDT). Thank you in advance.
