I would kill for a founder's membership.

Anyway, I love OTF. I've worked out consistently for 20 years, am self motivated, etc. But, OTF has excellent bio feedback so that you can be precise about how hard you are/should be working out. And, most of the instructors are really fun and energizing. I only do it once a week, though, as a supplement to my other gym membership where I run and lift.

I also absolutely hate the water rower. So it wasn't hard to get me to leave money on the table at OTF.

I have a Peloton here at home and I have no idea what a Peloton bootcamp is.

If you are good about getting yourself to the gym, but not great at writing your own programs there are lots of great on-line resources. I pay $25/month for a program where they send me new lifting program every month. I find it to be a great balance of having a structured program that I can do on my own. I am great about getting to the gym, but not so great at knowing what to do when I get there. I like having a program to follow with everything written out.

Is this through a company or a private instructor? I'd love some details as it sounds like that would really work for me. I like/need guidance but my work schedule shifts each week so it's hard to sign up for a consistent time. If I could do it whenever, that would really work for me.

It's through an on-line coach with a big on-line group. Coach is Jordan Syatt (check him out on instagram) Access to the monthly membership also gives you access to the facebook group with around 1000 members. Monthly workout are all strength focused and you can pick whether you want to follow the 3x/week or 4x/week lifting program. Splits are upper, lower full for 3x/ week or 2 lower 2 upper for 4x/week. Lifting program is geared toward people who know how to lift as workouts always include deadlifts and squats and are quite challenging, but there is a huge exercise library where he demonstrates the moves and gives great cues. There are also metabolic workouts posted that you can do too. I sounds like I work for him and I promise, I don't, I just really love his programs and approach. I also love getting new programs every month without having to think about it or plan anything. https://www.sfinnercircle.com/

I've been doing it for over two years, I go 4+ times a week, and I love it. I like the accountability and I think I push myself more and commit more in the group setting, plus there are studios in most of the places I go for work so working out when traveling is a no-brainer too. I still belong to a standard gym where I lift heavier a couple times a week with my DH.

All of that being said - the classes are as challenging as you make them, and you won't improve your fitness or physical shape much unless you push yourself. I'm there with other members who have completed 500+ classes and look more or less the same as when they started - but those tend to be the people walking on the treads and picking up the same 10lb weights in every class (maybe they keep coming back because it makes them feel good, and that's honestly enough). I like most of the coaches at our studio and our head coach in particular provides a lot of guidance for floor exercises, but I can see where this might vary a lot by studio. I also really enjoy researching and reading up on lifting, proper form, and different exercises to fill in the blanks on non-otf days. Ultimately it's worth it to me because it's made exercise a regular habit for me and I just don't question whether or not I'm going to work out on a particular day - if I'm signed up, I'm there (and I go 5 a.m. most days!).

I did it for half a year 3 times a week. I did not like the floor work. I wasn’t knowledgeable enough to adjust activities or ensure proper form and I didn’t find their trainers very helpful for directing the floor work. They were focused on keeping the timing on track for a class of 20+ people. I knew sooner or later I was going to mess up my back or something.

It was so high paced that I felt I was getting lost in the shuffle.

So no, not worth it to me.

It is worth it if you like the workouts and go at least 3x/week.

I did it for 2 years. Stopped to focus more on weight training/lifting heavier than I could in OTF.

If you need the accountability, sure. The community is a good bonus, too (I don't do OTF, but have found a great community through my workouts). I think if you're someone who has the discipline to workout on your own, you can get similar benefits, although OTF is probably much more fun!

Unlimited is what you make of it. I’ve been unlimited for 4 yrs and go between 4-6 times a week. I go when I travel. To me, it’s worth it because I go. The cost per class for me is pretty low.

Yes. I have been going for almost 5 years. I love it and feel great. Really have not lost much weight but the fitness carries over into so many other aspects of life - sports, chasing down kids, running up the metro stairs. Plus it is fun, always different, a great community and having to preregister for classes on the app forces you to go.
