Babies can get flu shots once they are six months old. They do it in a two part series, about 4 to 6 weeks apart. That said, my baby got a flu shot, does not go to daycare, and still manage to get the flu this year. Things happen.
Regarding the show, I can’t get over how this woman named her children the stupidest names. All with creative spellings. I have a hard time remembering which are girl names and which are a boy names. Also her crazy boob job is interesting.

I have never watched the show, but the main reason the flu shot isn't 100% effective is because there are strains that aren't covered by it. So, if your first kid is vaccinated and still gets the flu, then likely every other family member who was vaccinated with the same version of the show will also get the flu. It's not like 50% coverage means that 3 of your 6 kids get a strain. It means that you're protected against 1/2 the strains. (No, not saying that the flu shot is 50% effective, just simplifying the statistics to make a point).

My child got the flu this year (actually verified by test at doctor) and only felt crappy for 3 days. He'd had his flu shot, though.

I'm not sure they had the flu. Everybody got better in 5-6 days. The actual flu is like, you're down for 2 weeks and very likely to have to be hospitalized. I find that whenever people get sick during flu season they call it the flu, and half of them use it as proof that the flu shot "doesn't work for me." Except they were sick for 3 days and just called it the flu.

I also got the impression none of them had flu shots. Even when she was run-down afterwards, the dad was worried she had it. Like, none of the parents or big kids had the shot either, not just the little ones. And for the PP, all of them are old enough to get the flu shot -- they recommend it for people 6 months and up and the babies are like 13 months in this episode.
