Yes, thunderstorms! 7 year old DD would move in to 9 year old DS’s room full time if she could but these days it is DS who says no so I don’t have to. But he still lets her sleep there when there is a thunderstorm most of the time.

I struggle with my boys sleeping together sometimes. DS11 needs his sleep and has always been a sleeper. DS7 doesn't need as much sleep and has never been much of a sleeper. Its DS7 who likes to climb into his older brother's bed. Sometimes he will do it without the older boy knowing, which is fine. Sometimes he will do it to wake his brother up. This is where I have issues with them sleeping together. If they didn't have different styles of sleeping, I wouldn't mind so much.

The conversations my kids had were adorable. Loved that time. Now they are teens and just want their own space.

Our kids all wanted to sleep together and that meant one of them stopped coming into our room every night. So for us, it is a win every night.

Our younger two are in one room with a bunk bed and they sometimes end up together on the lower full sized one. The oldest and youngest (girls) - only on weekends/no school because they stay up all night together.

When my kids were young enough to want to do this, we allowed any time they asked it as long as it wasn't a school night and we didn't have to get up early the next morning for an activity.

My three daughters (6, 3, 1) share a room, even though we have an extra bedroom. We try to put them to bed extra early so they have at least an hour to chat/sing/play/fight quietly in their room. I think it’s good for kids to share, even when they don’t have to- a lot of bonding happens in that hour before they sleep.

They sleep in the same room. My older DD used to climb into younger DD's crib when she'd cry in the middle of the night. They are 6 and 7 now, and often read together and then fall asleep in the same bed.

I would prefer my kids sleep in their own beds/room since they sleep better that way but lately they’ve been wanting to have “sleepovers” together. How often would you allow this? DS 6 DD 4.
