Do you have suggestions? Are there games where they'd be able to see each other, and just play each other and not also play strangers at the same time? I don't know much about online games, but that doesn't mean we couldn't try.
Also, my middle kid doesn't have a lot of stamina right now, so one of the advantages of chess is that you can start, take a break and catch your breath or take a nap, and then come back and play some more. So, a multiplayer game that allowed that stop/start would be good.
