My DD got glasses at 18 months and never wore anything with a strap. I think we got glasses at Sears back then where they had a warrantee for kids. We never had much issue. I think even then she new she saw better with them and just wore them without question

Well, I don’t think I’ve seen a child over the age of four in toddler glasses with the strap if that’s what you mean. I know that my child graduated to a different size glasses as her face grew. So, at one point the children’s glasses stop fitting her but the adult glasses were too big, so she moved to a preteen size. I would assume that it works the same way for moving from toddler glasses to children’s glasses as well. I would assume that Costco is more limited with frames and places like target, vision works, LensCrafters, Walmart, Sears and other places like that.

I think it depends on the kids - 4-5. We would just buy two pairs but never had an issue. We have bought from Costco, Vision Works, and Target and bought frames online and had them filled at Costco. (it just depended on what we liked and what insurance that year we had)

At what age do kids start wearing regular glasses without straps — i.e., the cheap ones that Costco sells rather than the baby glasses that have cost me many hundreds of dollars over the years? My daughter needs glasses so getting her to wear them isn’t an issue - she affirmatively looks to wear them. But I imagine the strap and soft frame serve a purpose until some age. What age is it? I don’t want to even have to walk in to another high-end eyeglasses store if I don’t need to (or conversely be turned away from Costco again because they don’t sell toddler glasses).
