Inherited a Prius with a bad battery, would love to have yours

FD's wont' generally burn them, but they use them for practice with the jaws of life. for practice when extracting injured drivers/passengers..

If the other driver is at fault their insurance pays even if you don't have collision insurance. The car will be stored at the tow lot until the insurance takes care of it. If the car is totaled they'll make you an offer. You can counter that offer it it seems low. When our car was totaled the other people's insurance ended up giving us more than we thought we were going to get.

The "newer" more spiffy model came out in 2005.

Collision insurance covers your vehicle if you area t fault. likely the other driver has insurance, and that insurance company is going to pay you for the prius and then they will haul it away..

yes its old 2003, but at 113K miles is still pretty young for a prius.

any scrap yard will take it, but if you have th time and energy you can scrap it yourself for parts.

My Prius was hammered by a driver who ran a stop sign. The car is totaled. It was an old car, made in 2003, with 115K miles.

I didn't have collision insurance because, given the low blue book value of the car, it didn't seem worth it.

I know I can donate the car to charity, but are there other options? Is the battery of value?

For those of you who found yourselves in a similar situation, what did you end up doing with your totaled Prius?
