This is OP. I had forgotten about this thread! We ended up eating at Sauce & Barrel in the financial district since we needed something close when DCs we’re tired. It was good!

Third the ninja place if you can ignore the bill. If $45 vs $20 per person makes a difference for you, then skip it.

Two Boots Pizza

Basically throw a rock in lower Manhattan and you'll find a good place to eat.

There’s an Eataly pretty close to Battery Park.

Is little Italy too far? Some places (like Gelso and grand I think) have gluten free options, and eating on Mulberry st can be fun.

The Ninja place might be fun but it’s really expensive for mediocre food.

Staying in Battery Park and looking for a place for dinner. We typically like Italian, American, Mexican (but the El Vez menu doesn't look great for us), BBQ, Thai & Chinese. We can Uber to a close by neighborhood but don't want to go too far in case kids aren't cooperative due to travel that day. Kids are 9 & 7. We also need some vegetarian/gluten free options. Any suggestions?
