+1 Spain had lots of help

Spain had the complexion to get the protection.

Hey racist, why don't you stick to dumb "football."

I don’t think you get it. [/quote

I thought the Spanish team was slow but much better than S. Africa. Those Chinese and S. African women were mean, but they have a lot of motivation to play as dirty as possible against these top teams, chances are they will not make it out of their groups. Couldn't believe that kick to the crotch yesterday - ouch!

I agree that USA, France, England, Japan and Germany are the teams to bet on. Missing Hope Solo for USA. Can't wait for Tuesday!

The Chinese team made a mistake by constantly trying to play long balls to their forwards, who had no chance of beating the German defensive line to the ball. I don't know if that was desperation or strategy. But I was disappointed in how much the German team used foul theatrics.

Germany looked individually very strong, but tactically a bit suspect. They had some big holes in their defense and were unimaginative on offense. China was overmatched. Should have been about 4-0. Let’s see how Japan, England, and Spain come out of the gate. France looked very strong the other day, but I still think the US has the team to take it all.

France looked on and will be tough to knock out on their home turf for any team. USWNT not winning it all wouldn’t be a surprise to me.

1) France

Would not be surprised to see Spain make it to the semis though.

Ok give me your top 4 teams, ranked in order. Here are mine. While competition is tougher this year, with Horan, Lavelle, Heath, Morgan, Ertz, Rapinoe, Sauerbran, and Dunn, with Lloyd off the bench, just too much talent to not be the favorite.

1) U.S.
2) France
3) Japan
4) Germany
