Also didn't realize till now that we did not get math pullouts in second grade, though have all 4s in all quarters. Maybe this had something to do with 1st grade teacher? Wish had known this earlier and probably would have helped our case as on GBRS form, it says no math pullouts. Praying we get a level headed teacher in 3rd grade or will get on the school board's nerves and maybe they won't hoard us next year.

Should they consider level 3 with Cogat 135 already without WISC ? I think due to GBRS bring low they are not interested.

Thank you all. I am done dealing with the AART and will write to the principal next with the WISC. I wish I had sent them the WISC sooner and followed up on Level 3 as a backup.

I am sorry to hear that. I would submit the WISC to AART as an support for Level III. Your child needs at least Level III services..

Wouldn't the LLIV principal be able to place this child into the AAP classroom, assuming this is LLIV?

Does FCPS give the file reviewers some kind of "red flags" to look for? Because these high WISC denials don't make sense at all-especially in light of some of the appeals that are "In" with really low scores.

In my school, Level III is a once-a-week one-hour pull out. The report card says it has covered the four core areas, one in each quarter. Honestly, do not expect much from Level III, at least in those schools with this once-a-week pull out format.

My child was recommended for level III AAP in all four core subjects for third grade by the school (we never asked for it). What does this mean? Shouldn’t this be Level IV? Child was in pool automatically for Level IV, but didn’t get in. Appeal was unsuccessful. (NNAT 136, Cogat 118, WiISC 138, 2C and 2F from teacher). I am so cofused by this process.
