me too. My lab is 8 but still acts pupplike. We also adopted a shephed mix and she has been calm since we got her at 12 mos.

Around age 2 for my three dogs

Around 3 our beagle calmed down a lot. Then around 6 became quite a couch potato.

Was super high energy until 2 then started a fairly rapid descent in energy until 3. Now 4 and occasionally plays but everyone says how chill she is.

Our springer/poodle mix just turned two and it was like a switch was flipped. He is suddenly very calm. I got the leash out tonight and he didn't spaz out for the first time ever.

As others have said, in my experience labs and goldens usually chill out at about 3 years old.

Our Golden was really mouthy until about 1.5 years. After that, he really chilled on the mouthiness, though he is still pretty energetic

At nearly 1.5 he pulls like crazy on the leash, despite all leash training, and goes wild when there are other dogs or kids around - his two favorite groups.

Really hoping he'll calm down.

It depends on the breed. Labs tend to have long puppyhood phases, often up to three years. German Shepherds usually start to settle down by about two. Smaller dogs often mature faster.

I have a beagle so I’m not sure she’ll ever be “chill” - but she’s 2 and calmer/easier than she was as a puppy.

Age six, he lived until 19

Our rescue pup is at 18 months and starting to calm. I can’t wait until she actually chills out. Still super active, especially at night even after running with kids for the afternoon.

Mine is just under 2 years and in the past few months he has chilled out a lot - no longer destroying toys, happy to do independent play, more relaxed, and less velcroey. He was crazy as a puppy so these are welcome changes but part of me is sad he has grown up! When did yours chill out? FWIW mine is a breed with a 12-16 life expectancy.
