If you want me to shave down there, you can shave your face. Most men are not up to the grooming needed to maintain a beard.

Same and sorely disappointed. This is the Relationship Discussion, not Beauty and Fashion.

I love beards and my husband has had one for 13 years. They do require maintenance to stay soft and looking neat, he gets it trimmed monthly and a touch up every two weeks when he gets his neck shaved. It is also combed and conditioned daily.

Man here. I think well-trimmed goes well. I trim mine with a beard trimmer about once a week, and then shave every few days.

Well-groomed, if you must grow a beard. Scruffy is for teenagers who don't know better.

Really depends on the individual and their age. How old are you? Good looking, average or bad? Gray hair or not? Fat or normal weight?

Soon to be ex wife hates beards, so obviously I'm thinking about growing one. I see a ton of dudes sporting the scruffy, short beard look. What say you ladies? Scruffy, well trimmed beard or clean shaven?
