+1. My family in NY are Asian Indian, but not from educated families. One of my relatives received little formal education in his home country and is a NYC cab driver. Kids have done okay, with some graduating from okay colleges and even grad school, while others dropped out of high school and currently work minimum wage jobs. Not all Asian Americans fit the "model minority" myth.
So yes, while I'm fine with the plan to diversify the schools, I agree they should account for low-income, less well-educated Asian families.
