idk why everyone tags this as a De blasio effort. The New york times is stoking all of this. There are some minority ny times editors who went to stuy and are making it their obsession to frame this as a anti black/brown rich whitey thing, when really it’s 100% overachiever Asians drowning all races out (including whites)

Agree.

What kind of sick person goes out of their way to discriminate against over achieving kids? What makes it even more disgusting is that his agenda is race based.

There are more African Americans than Asian Americans. That’s why they think it is ok to discriminate against Asians.

Could you imagine forcing more Asians on basketball teams?

False analogy. Go back to school.

That's a nice way of saying that they are going to loosen standards so they can admit more AA kids . And of course it will be at the expense of another group. Not surprisingly, the liberal bigots see nothing wrong with this.

No, I don't think this is wrong. I also am not suing schools because I'm white. You do you.

There was a big thread about this awhile back.

+1. My family in NY are Asian Indian, but not from educated families. One of my relatives received little formal education in his home country and is a NYC cab driver. Kids have done okay, with some graduating from okay colleges and even grad school, while others dropped out of high school and currently work minimum wage jobs. Not all Asian Americans fit the "model minority" myth.

So yes, while I'm fine with the plan to diversify the schools, I agree they should account for low-income, less well-educated Asian families.

I admire Asian Americans, and I don't understand how they continue voting for csndidates who jeopardize their kids' futures.

It's crazy.

FWIW, Yes, I know this is a very conservative source for journalism, but they do write well. It also is quite literally telling the truth. De Blasio is looking extra hard to cut out Asians at NYC's top schools where seats are determined by admissions tests.
