My child has not done anything in school academic since spring break:
prepare for PARCC
Take PARCC
Independent project
prepare for promotion ceremony

Yes- 5th grade is the weakest teaching cohort at out school.

I have seen people on dcum calling school childcare so give me a break. Everyone’s ready to get on with summer. The system we have means all work completed can’t be returned, half the kids are on vacation already, and teachers are treated as babysitters. So go or don’t go, but stop complaining about DCPS. Lots of great reasons to hate on DCPS. This is not one of them.

It is full yet every year we are told our kid doesn't need to return after their respective moving up/end of year program. So, apparently 'every day' only counts until the last week of school at our neighborhood dcps.

if your kid doesn't show, I'll guarantee they are missing a key component of their education.

They got rid of the half days as of last year because I think people complained about child care complications.

It does look like a full day, but I'm sure you can take your kids early if needed.

In the past, the last day of DCPS has been a 1/2 day, but when I check the calendar, it looks like a full day. Anyone already asked their school about this?
