yeah I think it's time to transition out of the swaddle, both for age reasons and getting their hand out is another sign. You could try a "swaddle" that has arms out, like the halo where it's still tight around the chest area and see if they go for it. If not you could try the zippity zip like you said - that helped us with the transition. Or you can just try the sleep sack right away, for some babies it's a non-issue. It sounds like your baby is ready to use some of their own soothing tools and I would definitely encourage that by letting them have access. You're on the right track! Sometimes the first couple nights are a little rougher than usual, but they really do transition pretty quickly.

I'm very very paranoid about sleep safety and did the Merlin- I just kept the room at 65 and didn't have her in anything underneath. She was probably too cold actually.

This was us too bit a tiny bit rallied. Dd found her hands and then her thumb two weeks later and then started sleeping so much better. And now at 3 she still sucks her thumb but sleeps like a dream.

My oldest never liked the swaddle and we never swaddled.....youngest one lasted about a month. Just transition to a sleepsack.

Your baby should be out of the swaddle by now. Pediatricians are now saying two months max.

We went cold turkey on the snoo and swaddle at 3.5 months. While I lived the snoo her mobility increased a lot over the next few days and it made me worry having her tied down all night (basically) was inhibiting physical development. She went from not even trying to roll to rolling within days after.

Anyway. 3 months is pretty old. I’d transition to letting arms out.

My 11 week old son sleeps through the night amazingly in the Snoo swaddle. But past few nights he is getting his hand out and sucking on it. He’s a new finger sucker. I don’t mind it so much but this wakes him up or keeps him up. Should I transition to keeping hands out? Should I switch to the zipadee zip? Anyone else have a similar situation?
