Is this really something that concerns/bothers people? I drive with windows down/music up all the time, I really enjoy it. I don't think to myself that I want other people to hear it (that's really bizarre.)

This. Of all the times that unwanted music might bother me, music from someone’s car is probably on the bottom of the list. And the guy’s AC may have been broken.

I am probably the most irritated when it comes to music..I loathe speakers at the beach, house parties where I can hear your bass, etc.
But a car? There is already so much other noise and it is fleeting. Doesn't bother me too much, though I'd be happy if I didn't have to hear it.

Why is this so often the case?
Yesterday, a Maryland tagged silver Prius decided that it was worth forgoing air conditioning in favor of the natural 95-degree open air * just * so that the rest of us could hear the Arabic (?) techno the driver was listening to.
Do people not realize that they are not being cool & interesting, but annoying and obnoxious?
Why is this so often the case?
