I couldn't believe how many people had their dogs in Home Depot last weekend. People in this country are insane.

There needs to be an official registry for qualified training. And only certification from those businesses’ should be allowed on planes.

I’m training a psychiatric service dog (real one) right now. I agree with his suing. Animals need to be contained on flights. At the very least, muzzled.

What dog breed was it?

It's not good for the humans, and many pet owners need to stop pretending like it's good for the dog and that Fido really just loves to travel. Unless it is a trains, certified service animal for a legit and documented medical need, this 'emotional service dog' crap needs to end. On planes, and everywhere.

Why don’t airlines offer some pet-free flights for people with allergies? Even before all this emotional support animal stuff, I’d often been on flights with dogs. Curious why airlines haven’t consider med that.

+1 My husband's cousin didn't want to pay the fee for dog to fly legitimately. So she got an Internet doc to write her a scrip for her emotional support animal, so the dog could fly for free.

Horrible. I have a dog, but as a mental health professional, I think more people should seek evidence-based treatment for mental health problems, and not rely on a "crutch" like an emotional support animal. (I realize good treatment is not available/accessible to everyone, but hopefully such treatments will be expanded in the near future, with the availability of telehealth etc..) I think only service dogs that serve a medical need should be allowed on flights.

How is it any better if an adult vs. child is attacked? Equally horrible. If that man needs an emotional support dog, I hope the marine corps discharges him as he is not fit for duty. Its completely absurd to have an emotional support dog. You either have a trained service dog or they are your pet. If you cannot handle flying without your pet, don't fly.

JFC. The poor guy got 28 stitches and has lost sensation to his face. Service animals ONLY on board. Not emotional support animals that a 100$ Internet "health professional" certifies.

That's already happened. An "emotional support" dog bit a 6 year old child last year.
