Apalachian Mountain Club has several

Purity Springs Resort in (or near) Freedom, NH. Spent a week there every summer of my childhood & we all LOVED it. My husband likes posh & tropical vacations, but even when we are in the Caribbean I am dreaming of canoeing around to visit the beaver lodge and jumping off the raft into a (cold!) lake in rural New Hampshire....

We are considering spending part of our summer vacation in Central / Northern New Hampshire. We are looking for a reasonably priced family lodge / hotel. Ideally, it is some place where the mellow ones in the family can curl up with a book in a beautiful setting and those of us who are more active can spend time in the water (lake, pool; swimming, kayaking, fishing), hiking, playing games, etc. Any suggestions?
