Absolutely DCB. How is this even a question?

OP here. Commute is not a problem because we live near-ish to DCB and work downtown. It’ll be slightly worse to DCB but not decisively.

Isn't MV also on the redline? If you lived on the redline between the 2, I can imagine it.

If you cannot commute to DCB how will you commute to DCI?

Parents don't commute to DCI. 95% of students use public transit and commute independently.

What are your questions and concerns?

We've been SO happy there but also have experience only with preschool. So far, teachers have been warm engaged thoughtful and encouraging. The principals seem open and good (just not much interaction with them yet). And the head of school is this dynamic dynamo that makes everyone feel heard and welcome.

The outdoor space is great with a small playground but a large garden and community field attached to the school (also used by Bridges next door).

We have no experience with MV though, other than a preK3 tour, so no way to compare.

If you can make commute work, go for it. I know a lot of MV families who may leave this year if they get off WLs or who are moving.

There's a reason you lotteried for something else.

Our friends have one kid at DCB and one heading there. They seem happy.

There is a reason there are so few posts about DCB - no drama. EVER! You will not regret it.

DCB no question. I would jump off the MV ship ASAP!

From what I hear, DCB is pretty fab.

We're a current MV P St. family and just got called off the wait list for DCB (lower elementary). I understand that we are incredibly lucky to have these two great options, but am so conflicted about what to do. We love the teachers and families at MV but there has been so much drama over the past two years, particularly with the isolationist approach that the administration takes while spouting inclusivity and community ideals. We also have concerns about the path to DCI (uncertainty about availability due to expansion). Any current or former DCB families that want to share their experience at the school? Or (shot in the dark) any MV families that have moved on and are happy they did?
