We do ($18/hour on the books) but she gets other perks. She has four kids of her own and my wife works from home, so we're flexible if, for example, she has to bring the 1 year old in with her or if she has to call in last minute due to her kids being sick. She does a 9:30-3:00 schedule, also part of what she needs to get her kids in the afternoon. We don't look for her to do anything beyond caring for our one child and cleaning up after him. DW even often prepares his lunch for him. We give her other bonuses off the books - buying lunch, cash for holidays, etc.

I get $50 an hour for just childcare. I have an advanced degree and am supposed to speak Mandarin to my charges so they get an immersion experience but no formal tutoring is required. I also cook breakfast, snacks and lunch for them. My health insurance is through my husband but employers offered it. I get 2 weeks paid vacation

We pay ours $15 and cover part of the healthcare. We pay taxes and she has 2 weeks paid vacation and one week sick leave. She's wonderful. We didn't require a college education as it's not necessarily for the early stages.

That is because most of the nannies on this forum are Americans with some college if not a degree and teaching/daycare experience - and yes, they do command a higher wage. The foreign nannies with limited English rarely post here.

We pay our nanny - an American college graduate with teaching experience - $28 an hour plus healthcare and a car for one child. Definitely on the high end but she had what we wanted and is amazing.

I live in a lower COL area.

I pay my nanny $17 an hour for two kids. She had never nannied before and is young.

She works a pretty easy schedule and we have a biweekly date night built into our contract. We give her an extra $50 a month for healthcare and generally don't track leave that much.

This is a terrible place to ask. Every nanny on this forum makes $30+/hr with no responsibilities outside of child care. They also require an insurance stipend, generous vacation, very generous bonuses, and flexibility with their hours.

So said was 3+ years ago? Did you start at $18 or end at $18?

OP here- paying on the books
dont plan on paying for health insurance or any other perks/benefits except for sick and vacation time

$24/hr plus we pay for health insurance. She gets paid vacation and paid sick time.

Between $20 - $30 an hour depending on a nanny’s experience, education, and special skills. It also is dependent on if you are paying on the books or not.

This has been debated ad nauseum on the nanny forum.
