That is because most of the nannies on this forum are Americans with some college if not a degree and teaching/daycare experience - and yes, they do command a higher wage. The foreign nannies with limited English rarely post here.
We pay our nanny - an American college graduate with teaching experience - $28 an hour plus healthcare and a car for one child. Definitely on the high end but she had what we wanted and is amazing.
