Because no one is coming at 4, and they need to revenue. Hire a sitter for an hour each day if you want.

It's not like it's news to you that elementary school gets out between 3 and 3:30. Schools offer aftercare until 6pm because they recognize that many parents are not able to pick up their children at regular dismissal time. They have to staff the aftercare, pay the salaries of the people working there, buy materials, etc. Your kids take up 2 spots regardless of whether they are there for 45 minutes or 3 hours.

You had YEARS to come up with a plan for how to handle it. Maybe just let your kids stay at aftercare until the end of that program so that you are at least feeling like you get what you pay for.

I see,I didn’t think of this because most after care staffs are teachers and already on site.

Yes two kids at $450/month/kid and it keeps going up.

They won't do this. They have to maintain an adequate adult-child ratio at all times, so your kid is taking a spot even if you pick up early. It is not like some other child can come in to aftercare when yours leaves at 4 pm.

I was wondering why I have not found an after care program with several pick up options for parents?
For example my kids school is out at 315pm, but I can only be there for pickup at 4pm, the only option in their school for aftercare is to pay till 630pm, why can't they have an option for something between for less money? Is this something I could recommend to the aftercare program? I am sure I am not the only one in this situation. Right now we use a not always reliable aftercare nanny because I dont feel like paying about $1000/month for 45 minutes. I am curious if there any school around which provides this type of options for parents, just to know if it is a crazy idea.
