Thank you to the poster who suggested getting your young children to let you brush their teeth by saying there were monsters, tigers, etc in there and making a game of getting them out with the toothbrush. Gamechanger for me that helped for years!

Thanks to the posters who said flat out that pediatricians often dismiss language delays. I followed my pediatrician’s advice until my kid was almost 2 and he still only had a handful of words. Once I decided to get him evaluated against my ped’s advice, he got into speech therapy very quickly and in just a few months he was talking in 4 word combos!

Thank you to the poster who recommended the Potette for travel. I bought it few weeks ago for overseas travel and DD hasn’t had a single accident; mostly it’s been a lifesaver for letting her feel comfortable sit on a jillion different toilets.

Thank you to the poster who distinguished night weaning vs. sleep training for me. I was trying to do the latter without tackling the former and was going nuts. This was nearly two years ago now but it saved me during the dreaded four-month sleep regression. I try to pay it forward by lurking on the expectant/new moms board and responding to the weekly "HELP my four month old was a great sleeper and all of a sudden isn't!" posts

Thank you to the poster who, when I got significantly worse nuchal results for my second child than my first (something like 1/180 vs 1/10,000) said something like 'if there were 180 pumpkins in a field and someone said there was a million dollars under 179 of them, wouldn't you celebrate that you just won a million dollars?'

It made me feel SO much better and I've used it to make others (hopefully) feel better over the years. Kid is now almost 6 (!!) and totally healthy. Thank you to the poster!!

Thank you to the poster in the Special Needs forum who pointed me to the right school for my child. It is called Little Beginnings, in Arlington, and he is thriving there. I would not have known about this special APS program were it not for you (lord knows APS certainly didn't tell me about it!)

That may have been me, but it is generally a good rule of thumb that I'm sure a lot of posters recommend.

Slight downside...all year long we hear "At Burgundy..." like the girl in American Pie who's always saying "last summer, at band camp..."

So... thank you to the poster who told me about “magic prunes” for my toddler’s constipation! We had been using the pre-made prune purée in jars and it did nothing. My hero poster wrote about soaking fresh prunes in hot water until they puffed up and then purée in the blender. Worked! Weird that premade prune purée didydo anything but the fresh purée did!
