Clemson grad here, class ‘01. Lots has changed since I was there, as have I, but I loved my time there. Met my DH there and we’ll probably steer our kids to a similar collegiate environment, but maybe not specifically Clemson just because we didn’t/don’t fit the southern mold (Greek, football, conservative). But a small, casual college town is fun. I was always being able to go out by myself knowing I’d run into people I knew.

Lordy. First, Clemson is an excellent school. And second, it’s an ACC school. And yes, you should feel stupid.

Do the rest of us a favor and just go away. (Not that it matters to a close-minded northern liberal, but it's not even in the SEC.)

Yep!! They’re an ACC school, you stupid twat. Go troll somewhere else with your southern insult bush*t.

I know quite a few people from this area who went there. Have you ever been there? If not, you might be surprised. It is in the middle of nowhere, and is a PITA to get to because flights are expensive, but it's a beautiful school with a TON of school spirit and very friendly students. Most of the ones I know were engineering grads and they are all gainfully employed and doing quite well. None of them live in DC anymore, which is not surprising.

Our neighbor's son just graduated from Clemson with a CS degree; he was very happy there and had no issues finding internships/jobs. He has accepted an offer (before graduation) in a major metro area, so all is well. I think it really depends on the kid.

Similar to VA Tech, very isolated too. Solid STEM programs, but stingy on merit for OOS students.

My DC got in with a 3.4 1390 SAT. I believe it depends on the major as well. Good Luck
